OSHA WEB SITE GETS FACELIFT; NEW STREAMLINED FEATURES
              MAKE INFORMATION EASIER TO ACCESS

The official Web site of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) is sporting a new look this summer. Shedding its text-based facade
and donning a more graphic-oriented look, the enhanced Web site is more
  dynamic, user-friendly and informative.

Along with a new color scheme and revolving images, the Web site combines
all of OSHA's resources into a single location -- http://www.osha.gov.
Several new features have been added, and older ones streamlined to make a
wealth of documents and statistics available at a click of your left mouse
  button.

Some of these new or enhanced features are:

ㅇ New Alphabetic Index An extensive alphabetic index, including safety
and health topics, is now available to simplify access to information.

ㅇ New Expanded Search Users can search across the entire OSHA Web Site,
containing thousands of documents, by using combinations of words or
phrases. Users also can limit the search to one or more types of docu-
ments, such as Regulations and Directives.

ㅇ Improved Compliance Assistance Resource "Compliance Links" consolidate
all current OSHA compliance-related information and interlinks individ-
ual subparagraphs of the standards to specific interpretations. Hyper-
text links also have been added relating to compliance guidance,
 directives, and case laws.

ㅇ New Pages for the 50 States These pages provide contact information
for consultation programs in every state, while also offering infor-
mation for those states operating their own safety and health programs.
Links are also available to Web sites maintained by state governments
       concerning safety and health issues.

ㅇ New Electronic FOIA Page This includes information on how to file a
Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request with OSHA. It also contains
the FOIA Act and amendments, policy documents, manuals and FOIA
 responses.

The enhanced Web site still offers users insight to the latest issues
concerning OSHA's mission of protecting the safety and health of America's
workers. News releases, official statements, fact sheets and various OSHA
  publicatons are available for downloading.

With its facelift, the OSHA website incorporates some of the latest Web tech-
nology to provide users with a pleasant, efficient and informative guide to
  the agency.
