The Global Information Network on Chemicals met at the National
Institute of Health Sciences in Tokyo. The purpose of th meeting is
outlined below :
1. Summarize the one year progress of the Global Information Network on
Chemicals project since the last Tokyo meeting.
2. Survey the state of the art of the Global Information Network on
Chemicals and related systems on the Internet by on site demonstration.
3. Discuss some important key technologies relevant to the Global
Information Network on Chemicals project.
4. Discuss how to build up the Asian Pilot Network of the Global
Information Network on Chemicals.
5. Discuss how to carry out demonstrations at the IFCS/ISG meeting in
Canberra.
As a direct result of the Tokyo meeting, the Asian - Pacife Regional
Programme on Occupational Safety and Health will organize a pilot
workshop with a view to establishing a national chemical safety
information network in Thailand in March 1996.
