Improved binding and boot designs have contributed to a 48 percent
reduction of ski injuries, according to a new study by the University of
Vermont College of Medicine.
While leg and ankle fractures decreased, knee injuries are on the
rise. Sudden turns and jumps that used to impact the ankle now affect
the knee.
