“MOU between public organizations KOSHA-EWP, mutual cooperation for occupational accident prevention July 15, 2014 Mutual cooperation between Early Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) and Korea East-West Power Co., Lt (EWP) located in the innovative-city zone in Ulsan will be made. The two public organizations have successfully relocated their headquarters to the innovative-city zone in Ulsan early this year. They signed an MOU to magnify synergy significantly between organizations in the zone. <Overview of ceremony> Both organizations will concentrate effort to enhance the level of safety of EWP under the MOU. In particular, they will place focus on the establishment of Safety and Health Management System for the safety of not only EWP but also its partners. To this end, KOSHA will provide technical assistance and educational training to lay the foundation for the system as well as EWP will support its partners’ active participation. In addition, to raise the safety awareness of EWP staff members and its partners, KOSHA is planned to support EWP with safety education by making full use of KOSHA’s facilities such as Safety Experience Education Center and Asbestos Information Center. KOSHA and EWP will cooperate for joint inspections, investigation of accident cause, and health promotion activities to improve workers’ health. ※ Korea East-West Power Co., Lt (EWP) is a public enterprise running five power plants including Ulsan Oil-Fired & C.C Power Complex, Honam Coal-Fired Power Plant, Donghae Coal-Fired Power Plant, Ilsan Combined Heat & Power Plant with Dangjin Coal-Fired Power Complex as the center. EWP has about 600 partner companies and has successfully relocated its headquarters from Seoul to Ulsan this June.
