Basic OSH Training in the Service Industry

Free education courses will be delivered to workers in the service industries. Workers in these industries such as food service industry or facility maintenance industry are normally female or aged workers and they are easily exposed to occupational accident.

In particular, it is not easy to provide OSH education to the service industry workers because of no legal liability on the completion of OSH education, frequent layoff or shut down of workplace or job changes.

Therefore, KOSHA provides free 'Basic OSH Training' for accident prevention to workers who are vulnerable to occupational accident as well as getting OSH education.

The Basic OSH Training covers the subject of safety rules, accident cases and prevention measures and so on by category of service industry. The training is conducted for 3 hours at 40 training centers in 6 areas nationwide.

This year, about 25,000 workers in the industries or one looking for a job in the industries will be target of the training.

To enhance the effectiveness of the training, KOSHA selected 15 agencies nationwide. The agencies will invite trainees and provide the training course by the end of November this year in cooperation with workplace and related organizations.

In line with that, the training performance and issues concerned will be figured out and analyzed for future improvement by monitoring the agencies and conducting the survey on the satisfaction of trainees.
